As is often noted, children do not come with a manual regarding the perfect way to raise them or any sort of guide on how to be a good parent.

I am aware that there are many books, articles, courses and other resources on raising children, so you may ask: why do we need another one and perhaps, more importantly, what qualifies me to write this book?

To answer the first question, I am hoping that this will be a simple, quick and easy book which you can refer to for guidance on a number of common issues which may occur on your journey through parenthood.

To answer the second question, I feel that I am ‘qualified’ to write this book because of my experience as a mother of six, and grandmother of two.  I have two boys and four girls, which include identical twin girls, and my youngest is still a teenager.  You can add to this my nieces and nephews and the countless other children that I have been privileged to look after.  I am a trained teacher and taught in post sixteen education for several years, as well as working in the field of writing, teaching and managing parenting courses.  I was also a school governor in both primary and secondary school for around twenty years and have taught in Sunday School and Bible Class for over 40 years.

Having spanned all genders, ages and stages in a variety of settings, with children and parents, I would like to share some of the knowledge I have gained along the way, which I believe will be useful in supporting other parents on their journey through parenthood.

Book Publisher UK

This is the book which I wish I had when I was starting out on my journey into parenthood.

The aim of my book is to provide parents with a short, simple, pocket-sized resource to help them be the good parent they aspire to be.

Inspired by my own individual experiences, the book will be useful for all would-be parents, about to be parents, or already parents of all ages and at all stages.
