Robert Plummer was born in Huddersfield, Yorkshire in July 1942 and educated at the Lancaster Royal Grammar School. He served for thirty-six years in the Royal Air Force where he attained the rank of Group Captain and during this time he served in Aden, Bahrein, Belgium and Turkey.
In retirement, he spent a number of years working for a London City based charity which was followed, by eight years in La France Profond.
He presently lives in Dorset and is a member of the Wimborne Library Poetry Group and the Sherborne Library Poetry Group
My poems don’t fit any particular genre, type or style; the collection has been written over a number of years and is delightfully diverse.
You will meet indifferent bees, the ghostly shapes of junior trout, the Gentile at the door of the Last Supper, a soldier doing his best, and be able to walk with me on a shining pathway of stars.
My verse may amuse, stimulate and even possibly challenge you. At times whimsical, it is sometimes philosophical and even theological and in one section reflects my time in the military.
Please dive in and enjoy.
