Tom Askey graduated in medieval history at the University of Manchester, where his postgraduate research led to being recognised as an authority on charitable benefaction in the late medieval period.

Lance Thackeray 1867-1916 is known as a designer of humorous postcards whose wit and elegance have never been surpassed. He was far more than that. In his short lifetime he produced sketches, pastel drawings and watercolours of great skill and beauty, now seldom seen.

Had he lived to old age he would surely have become a major English artist. Sadly he died during the First World War.

Sociable yet self-effacing, he has eluded wider recognition. A bachelor leaving few personal traces, no full account of his life and art has previously appeared. In his centenary year this book is timely.

In 2003 Diane Marshall was hailed by The Scotsman as: ‘One of the finest writing talents to emerge in Scotland.

“Jeannie’s Light” is another superb period drama and her third novel in the series.

In the year 1876, a young woman’s life is changed for ever by a series of events that rock her to the core.

Her very existence is threatened by lies, hatred and even murder as she struggles to survive the tragedies that seem destined to fall upon her. In her pursuit of a happy life, the one person that she trusts lets her down in the worst possible way.

Will hardship and heartache make her stronger? Or will she be driven to her knees by the weight of her burdens?

Are humans, however powerful, all merely players on earth's stage?

The Arianians and Pepperon trusted in technology and science and their products and put them above ghosts, haunted homes, haunted hotels, spirits and angels and gave thought to “what the eyes can see” world only but that changed when a series of events occurred.

The Arianians therefore paid so much to seek explanation through a friend who lived on another continent where they believed in the spiritual as well as the physical and admitted that there was a world beyond earth's world of science, technology and physical objects.

Emmanuel Goka lives in Ghana with his wife and three children. He went in search of his world, to learn its extent and found it to be beyond all the planetary systems and well beyond the humans' earth world.

He also found that there were others under the waters, and elsewhere, more intelligent, more spiritual, more capable than humans.
